A child and an educator were working together creating a Scavenger Hunt for the group when the educator posed the idea of extending the hunt into the community. It was decided that The Friendship Gardens was the ideal spot for this event. Working together the educator and child created a hunt using photos of landmarks found within the park. The group was divided into three teams and the challenge was on! Setting off with a map and the photo clues the children began to scour the park, taking pictures for evidence of landmarks found. This event became more than just the thrill of the hunt. For many of the children, the most exciting part was riding the city bus for the first time and pointing out familiar sites in our communing extending our Scavenger Hunt even more than we expected. What a great memorable moment!
