We had completed our first stage of painting our school bus and it had finally dried. The children were very excited to be able to go inside the school bus and let their imagination soar.
The following was the dialogue and actions that we observed:
“Hi!” “HI!” “Ok I have to put the blanket down” (trying to cover their legs), Another child is exploring stepping in and out of the bus, “press the horn!”, “bye bye!”, “we are stuck on the road”, “beep beep!”, other children gather bags and toys and make their way over to the bus and observe their peers that are inside.
From this observation we brainstormed with the children what other details they would like to add to their bus. They shared that they would like to add “glue”, “hoof”(horn), “doors” and a “rainbow”. We will be supporting each child to select some recyclable materials that they think would best represent their ideas to add onto our bus next week.
