Kindergarten Program

september 2022

The children at Westmount have been getting crafty and showing off their artistic skills by using materials from the classroom and outdoors to make different creations. They came up with the idea to create paper bag puppets, draw different kinds of lava monsters, make their own books, and so much more. Most recently they decided to bring their creativity outside of the classroom and into our outdoor play area. We encourage children to extend their learning beyond the classroom, exploring different environments and materials to challenge their creative thinking. Children worked together collecting sticks which sparked the idea to make picture frames! The older children helped the kindergartens make their stick frames which they then drew beautiful pictures to put inside. The children used tape and sticks and made frames of all different sizes, we took some pictures to capture the creative process of the frames and the joy that this idea created.
