Continuing our explorations around bugs,
the preschool children continued to share their excitement as we discover finding them outside and inside of our learning environments! Throughout the month of August, we had a family bring in milkweed with caterpillar eggs attached which gave us the opportunity to observe the monarch butterflies hatch in our terrarium. The children made their own observations of the changes in the terrarium along with making hypotheses of what colours they think they would see when the butterflies hatch. This led the children to
create many representations of these creatures, using a variety of art
materials. This was such a magical experience for the children to be a part of!
