Kindergarten Program

may 2023

At the beginning of April we introduced hand sewing to the group on a rainy afternoon. We provided different kinds of fabrics along with string and showed them how to use needles for hand stitching. We help coach the children with the practice needles along with teaching the children how to thread the string through the needle hole and to make knots. After some time the children got more confident in using the needle and began to make their creations. Throughout the month of May the children continued to build on these skills progressing to smaller needles and thread. They began to create patterns for blankets and purses. As their skills grow so did their confidence! The children continue to work on sewing projects, adding buttons and more accessories to their designs. We are looking forward to seeing what new creations they will come up with next
