This month the children have been involved
in a lot of dramatic play! Working together to communicate with their peers.
With the new house in our playground it has inspired the children into
exploring ideas around an “Ice cream shop”. Including both our indoor, and
outdoor environment, we have provided a variety of materials to explore
different concepts like matching, counting, sensory, games (turn taking), and
art.
The children have really been enjoying the
idea of serving their peers, by asking, and preparing their “order”. As they
approach the window they’ve been holding their cones that they designed and
requesting different flavours. There have also been a few children walking
around with clip boards and menus to take orders around the playground. We’re
excited to see how this interest continues and how we can continue to support
their ideas.
