Over the course of the month, we have noticed the preschool children becoming more involved in dramatic play and becoming more incorporated with their building. Seeing this outside in the playground this morning, a group of children began stacking long wooden pieces along the window ledge, in our playhouse. “Keep the bad wolf out!” they were saying as they were working. Also, an interesting piece of this play that we observed was that the children intentionally poured sand in between each wooden piece, calling it “brick oil”. Curious about this play, we switched out the materials inside our sand table, to see if the children will continue their play inside.
