The Preschool Summer Program has officially begun! We have welcomed 9 new friendly faces into our program and we could not be more excited! Right off the bat, the preschoolers portrayed their interests shortly after the very first day.
This past month, the preschool children have been very interested in exploring different ways that they can make imprints/impressions on materials around the room. This interest began on the second day of the summer program when we made a fresh batch of play dough. The children explored making imprints by pressing marker lids into their play dough, by pressing various art materials into the play dough, as well as pressing their bodies into it as well!
This interest then extended to the children pressing flowers, leaves, and sticks that we found in our community into both the play dough and plasticine. Since then, the children have integrated the natural materials into more of their explorations! They have done this by adding pinecones and rocks into their dramatic play, as well as adding flowers into their painting and colouring!
