Through our investigations on different types of insects, the children have answered many of their own inquires. Names of the insects, what they eat and different body parts were only some of the questions they researched. The children decided that the construction of a 3D lady bug should be built as a celebration of this research. Grace used the technique crunching up pieces of paper and shaping it using tape to create "six legs", "a head", and "larger body". With help from other children in the program, the lady bug was covered with paper mache, painted and then decorated with "spots", "eyes", and "antennas". It was wonderful to see the children collaborate with one another throughout this project.
