As Justice passionately hit a round wood disc into the sand over and over he said "look a footprint!" In the sand were circular imprints left by his wood disc. "I wonder what would leave footprints like that?" asked his educator. "They are animal footprints, elephant footprints" he replied. Later that day Justice found another "footprint" in the sand left by his shoe. We went inside and the children brainstormed ways we could see our footprints. Connor suggested we step into clay and Kylah said we should use paint. We explored their theories throughout the week.
