MAKING NEW FRIENDS!
Mixing it up with St. Thomas & Westmount!
We decided to mix things up for the March Break this year. St. Martin’s was the spot to be, with families joining from St. Thomas and Westmount. We were excited to meet the children from these sites and in anticipation planned many fun “Getting to Know You” activities.
Each day our “Table Talks” were fun and even caused some debates when discussing our favourite sports stars! We explored the school inside and out with scavenger hunts and co-operative games which everyone participated in.
The children were teaching each other new skills, using the rainbow loom making friendship bracelets for their new buddies. They were working together at the art table creating one-of-a-kind pieces of art.
By the end of the week, many of the children were sad to say good-bye to their new friends, therefore it was decided we will keep in touch, by becoming pen pals and possibly planning on getting together on PA Days or in the summer.
On Friday, we created 2 “Commemorative Posters” to celebrate the new friendships one for St. Martin and one for Westmount.
