Today the children had a wonderful time exploring a sensory bin filled with colorful rice, measuring cups, funnels, and small containers. They began scooping and pouring with the tools, letting the rice flow through the funnel. As the grains cascaded onto their hands, they giggled and enjoyed the tactile sensation of the rice.
B.S. quickly came up with an imaginative idea; “This is a rice factory. We are packing rice into containers and giving it to people.”
C.W. added his own idea, holding up a cheese grater and said; “I’m grating rice!”
The children’s imaginations transformed a simple activity into an elaborate play with meaningful interactions. It was a joyful and sensory-rich experience.
