Infant Program

may 2023

Spring has sprung in the Infant Program and the children are beginning to notice it! As this is many of the infants’ first Spring where they are walking/mobile, talking, and exploring their curiosities, the children have been opened up to a whole new world! Many of the children are noticing different characteristics in our outdoor environment, such as being curious about different animals (Squirrels, birds, etc.), noticing how big trees are by looking up at the trees and saying “WOOAAHH!”, as well as even being more curious about the weather! With the infants being so curious about the world around them, we have been making the active effort to experience new ideas/curiosities outside. We’ve been exploring this interest by going for community walks to various different locations, such as to Marina Park or to Vicars Creek, as well as exploring everything our playground has to offer, as well as exploring the toddler playground! By exploring our outdoor play space, the children are also noticing smaller outdoor characteristics, such as collecting flowers, rocks, pinecones, leaves, and grass. With these beautiful collections, we have been able to make art out of the children’s findings, as well as making sensory bins! We have collectively painted the rocks that the children have found, as well as collages/prints with the flowers that the children collected as well! We are so excited to see what else the children can discover as the weather gets warmer!
