Our group has been very busy building relationships with each other and the environment. Lately the children have been developing more social skills and building deeper more meaningful relationships. These social connections are beginning to flourish and are becoming more and more present in their day to day play and interactions. Many of the children are saying “please” and “thank you” when a peer shares a toy. They comfort each other when a peer looks sad or are upset. Upon arrival, almost all the children are eager to greet their peers and call each other “buddies.” This is especially evident through block play. The group has been exploring so many different learning schemas through their play whilst developing these very important social skills. Some of the theories we have made and begun to test are; Trajectory, Transportation, Cause and Effect, Ordering and positioning, Dynamic vertical and Horizontal, one to one correspondence, and discovering how things fit!
Stay tuned to see what they come up with next!
