The infants have been transfixed with exploring light. What is it that holds their fascination?
Is it the way the sun light glistens and sparkles as it reflects off different surfaces? Is it in the interplay of light, colour and shadow with the variety of different natural and man-made light sources we have available?
Is it the opportunity to hold, carry, examine and manipulate those materials to gain a deeper understanding of what the light can do? Is it investigating contrast of having the room well-lit versus using the materials in a dim or fully dark room?
What theories do you think the children could be working on?
