Our Summer Program has kicked off and the children from both our St. Martin and Westmount locations have COLLABORATED for two months. Throughout our first week we worked on RELATIONSHIP building between all children, educators, and the environment. The children helped create a calendar with some planned events including tye dye day, bug day, and pajama day just to name a few.
Bug day has turned into "bug month". The children's continual interest has been collecting and observing different bugs. Grace found two different types of beetles and researched with her friends online some questions they posed as a group. They were curious as to what the names of the beetles were, what they ate and how to take care of them. The beetles were kept for a few days in our environment so the children could sketch and make 3D replicas of them. We are currently looking at creating one large 3D beetle using recycled materials. Please bring some in for us to use!
