Kindergarten Program

February 2016

The children have been very engaged in dramatic play over the past while. Whether they are building with Legos and blocks, creating with art materials, or looking at books, the children are taking on different roles – both familiar and unfamiliar. The kindergarten children will choose their own roles, assign roles to each other, and negotiate different roles they can act out. By taking on different roles, they are able to express themselves in a different way and try to understand more about the scenario they are engaged in. The children will pretend to be characters from favorite movies, family members, construction workers, and more. The children are improving their social skills and problem solving skills through their dramatic play experiences.
