Preschool Program

august 2017

The Preschoolers this summer have enjoyed many adventures within our community. Often these adventures included joining with the School-Agers or Toddlers, walking together to the Marina enjoying the playground or splash pad. We also discovered two other parks to explore. The first being the John Kusznier Park on Fitzgerald St. We chose to visit this park several times because it has many challenging climbing structures, which is a skill our children have been building on throughout the summer. For a further challenge the older Preschoolers had an opportunity to go to Maple Moose. The second was the new splash pad by the North End Rec Centre. Wow! What a great place to visit. The children discovered it had many of the components that Valentino and Ethan had built using loose parts and large blocks one rainy day in our program. Our Intergenerational Program with Roseview Manor continued throughout the summer and we were fortunate to have beautiful weather for both our visits as we enjoyed playing in their garden. Community involvement is an important component to our philosophy and it seems summer time is the best time to take advantage of all the wonderful things Thunder Bay has to offer for families within our community. Therefore many of our adventures this summer included visiting these places to further extend interests and to challenge the children both physically and mentally
